The girls are girls and are pretty into dress up, dance, ballerina, tap and gymnastics. Now, we are not officially IN dance or gymnastics- but we seem to have lots of opportunities to check it all out. We have tried dance with a friend at a couple different dance studios, and we have tried out a tumbling class too! These pictures were from last weekend at a birthday party for one of our friends. You gotta love Cale's attempt at a "pose" and i felt lucky to get a "still" picture of Leah. They really enjoyed everything from the Trampoline to the giant bouncy house slide. Bouncing and jumping are one of Leah's FAVORITE things to do right now, so we will probably be visiting quite a few of the local open gyms around town.

New Beds

so, I am WAY behind on blogging for our family. Instead of worry so much about that- I am just going to post a little about what we have been up to (or not up to!) the past few months. First, here are some pictures of the girls in their new beds that their Nanny found last week. They both had twin beds prior to this- but didn't have bed frames- so this is a big improvement! We are thankful they were a great price, and Andy cleaned and fixed them up to look perfect in their rooms. After trying to room the girls together a few times, we have decided that they both need their own rooms to sleep in. Sleeping together meant not sleeping very well for either of them or US!

Leah has stayed in her new bed all night for 4 nights in a row- which after getting up multiple times a night for the past 6 months- is a MIRACLE!

Stylin

Leah's preferred outfit. 

   So, many of you already know that Leah has not preferred to wear clothes much this Summer. July was her "hottest" month on this topic, and now that we are almost to September, she is sort of moving on. However, she does only want to wear the same 5 dresses (with one being preferred to all others!). Therefore, I do countless loads of laundry, if only to save my own sanity. Leah is still Cale's biggest fan, although she is giving her a run for her money by taking things from her and making her really mad. Leah is going to be in preschool 3 days a week this year like Cale, and she has a great teacher that loves to play with the kids and is very active with them. Her style + Leah's personality are going to be a great fit. School starts Tuesday, August 31st! 

Cale also has her own style preferences. Some days she picks dresses, and others she comes up with outfits like this one. Stretch pants, Cowgirl shirt and socks pulled up. As well as a bad ponytail (my fault). She has really enjoyed swimming this summer and took some lessons from Miss Alyssa. She has gotten very brave in and around the water. Another milestone for Cale was learning to go down the big tunnel slide at Paradise Park. This slide had always scared her, its tall, covered- so dark, and high. But, we took some friends one day, and what do you know, now she does it like it is an old hat. Cale also has a great teacher lined up for this year at The Summit Preschool. I know that she will have fun and I am excited for her to get back in her school routine.

Leah... she is something else!

When we blew out the candles for Cale... we put 2 candles in Leah's cookie. You know, EVERYTHING has to be the same around here. It can be challenging to do anything that is not "equal" with them. And, Leah wanted to see her picture up here- so here she is!
She is still the busiest, funniest, most talkative little gal! Spunky is a great word to describe Leah!

Cale is 4!

Happy Birthday Cale! We love watching you grow! It was a fun weekend with a couple parties and a fun Barbie in a Mermaid Tale cake compliments of "Miss Shelley." Thankful for each day that we have together as a family.

Sleepwalking and Leah?

Leah has taken to her new freedom and bed pretty well. the past few night though, we wake up to find her in weird places. The first time it was on the floor on my side of the bed. I never heard her cry or talk, but I guess she just laid down and went  back to bed. Then, the next day, I found her asleep in the hallway... this could be interesting! Watch where you walk!

She's her own person

Cale loves to pick out her own outfits. I have not been the mom that makes sure they all "match" every time- so basically she comes up with some crazy outfits. Sometimes her pants are on backwards, and things don't really go together- but she usually thinks she looks just fine- so we go with it. Yesterday, she was getting ready for Downtown Day's with Grammy and PaPa and she came out with this outfit, which looked pretty cute. She loves to hassle Leah, swim with her floaties, play "phone" games (slide puzzles on our Droid phones) and sing her songs (VBS music from church) or "mommy songs" (air one radio). She is almost 4 and we are still so amazed that she is such a big girl!

This is just so Leah. We love her energy and her spunk. Her vocabulary is amazing and she can speak in sentences, paragraphs and she loves to tattle on Cale.

Welcome Summer!

Summer is here and we are all very excited. Cale was ready for a break from school, here is her quote about school. "I am all done with school and I don't want to go to Kindergarten." Well, the good news is she doesn't go to Kindergarten this year so at least we have some time to work on that. Leah loved her preschool class, but only had 4 days this year. Both girls will attend 3 days a week starting this fall. I have been working some from home for a local marketing company, so it will be nice to be able to work some while they enjoy preschool. Summer is going to be pretty laid back, we are hoping for lots of pool time and play time, and hanging out in our new and improved backyard! Life is good, the girls are healthy and growing every day. Leah talks like a big girl and can say anything. She doesn't miss a beat with her big sis and they have been getting along much better lately. Happy Summer everyone!

Spring Fun

We have had a fun filled Spring so far...spending time outdoors is the best!
Leah is getting so big now that she won't let me "help" her ride the carousel. She won't even let me touch her when she rides! Cale is still every bit of the artist, and loves to do projects. It is going to be tough keeping her busy when preschool ends in Mid-May! I am excited for fun pool days and lots of outside time.
Just a few things that they like to say... Cale loves to talk, all the time really. Lately, when she is trying to remember things, she says, "you know, yesternight" when we were outside.." she has used Yesternight a few times over the past week and I think it is too cute.
Leah also loves to talk. She still wakes up in the morning and calls my name, and then usually says, "mommy, I wanted you" or "i was scared without you." too sweet. thankfully she sleeps all night long without waking me up!!! We love them to pieces and hope that you enjoy these photos.
