Christmas 2009

Here are some highlights from our Christmas together. We were able to enjoy time with everyone in our family and this year was special because we had 2 new little cousins to love.  I have to say that the girls had the most fun playing with their cousins- they just can't get enough of them!  There is a quick movie at the end of the slide show- so be sure you can hear the girls talking.

Our Silly girls

We just love these girls so much- and although it is REALLY tough to capture a picture of them these days- here is a quick shot of both of them looking. We were snuggling in for the night... Merry Christmas everyone

Playdate fun!

We had so much fun at our friends house last Friday for a Christmas Play date.
the kids had so many activities and they just loved every minute of it. Here they are playing in the rice pool. They both loved it. Cale really liked seeing Santa again- she is not too talkative with him- but she isn't scared to sit with him either. Also, a really sweet thing she does now is ask Santa for a Barbie house for Leah, b/c she doesn't have one yet! Sweet.
Merry Christmas!

Meeting Harper

We were able to take our girls over to meet Harper and visit with Jessica, Duke and Emily last Wednesday night. Cale was very happy to be able to hold Harper and she really likes watching her and talking to her. She says, "she really likes me momma." Very fun to see her understanding that babies are little people that grow up! Leah was much more interested in running in circles and playing with the rocking chair and other fun baby items. Also, she liked the Grinch. Merry Christmas!

Wax Lips

This is just funny. Thanks to Nanny Cox for giving out "fun" Halloween toys!

Cookies, cookies and more cookies!!

A friend from church asked me to make some Birthday cookies for her daughter and some holiday cookies for work... here are the results. I used Colorflow icing to make them shiny and fun. Looking forward to making more for the Christmas Season... and I think I will let my girls have some fun today and use up the rest of the icing to decorate cookies with 2 of their friends that are coming over! I might be crazy...

Santa's Wonderland

The girls had a chance to sit on Santa's lap with their Mommy and MiMa at Santa's Town in College Station. They really enjoyed it and Cale asked Santa to bring her a Barbie house for Christmas.

Houston pics

We are having a great time visiting my mom and Paul in Houston. The weather has been great and we have played at the zoo, the park and the hot tub over and over again! Thanksgiving was really special... and the girls napped during our meal- so I enjoyed a nice glass of red wine and soaked it up! My mom did all the hard work-and it was yummy! Cale is really into "being brave" right now and swimming by herself from one side of the hot tub to the other. Pretty funny. Leah loves to say, "me too!" to anything you might mention. She WILL NOT be left behind.  I will post some more photos soon as we took so many. We also made a trip to visit my family in College Station, TX and we went to Santa's wonderland. My Aunt, Uncle and Cousins were nice enough to feed us and let us play at their house for the day. Cale and Leah loved having playmates- and Andy had a blast with the boys playing Wii and football.  At Santa's Wonderland the girls both sat on Santa's lap and it was very fun to see.
Time to think about the trip back home. Both girls slept almost the whole way down here (we drove overnight) and we plan to do that again on the way home. Home- back to the cold weather!!!
Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving... and if you shopped today- hope you made out better than me... as I was there at 4:45 am but didn't get what I went for. Time for some coffee or a nap!

Christmas Pics... the story

So... back at the end of October, I took the kids to do some Christmas pictures. I wasn't sure they would turn out like I hoped the first time so we started early. I wanted to take some in their PJ's b/c they both love Jammies! Also, I brought a long a special pillow that was mine when I was little and a blanket (aka wubbie) that my kids love. Cale and Leah are both big blankie kids- so I thought this would be a neat photo.
Also, their Grammy bought them the most beautiful dresses for Christmas- so we wanted to wear those too!
Needless to say, the girls did a great job this day- and I was very pleased. We really like a lady that takes pictures at Picture People named Karen. They all were so impressed with how the pictures turned out that they put them on display on the wall at the store. 7 big frames and lots of holiday postcards. Lots of my friends have told me it looks great. I have not seen it yet in person. Here are just a few of the pictures from that day! Hope you enjoy!

Headed to Houston

I have been bad about blogging these past 2 weeks! Seems like things are already getting very busy with Holiday plans and travels. We are leaving this week for Houston to spend time with my mom and Paul. The kids are very excited and Cale even knows how many more days until we leave.  We are planning to drive all night Friday night...we did this about 2 years ago with Cale- and we made it. Here goes!
We have fun plan to see family while we are there and we will have a quiet Thanksgiving at my mom's house.
I am sad to miss my Grandma this year on Thanksgiving- but hoping she can hold out to eat something yummy.
Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving!

Sea World Video

Sea World pics

Here are a few pictures from our day together at Sea World. The "Believe"Shamu show was amazing.
I loved the dolphin and whale show- and we even got to ride the roller coasters. Andy loved them too. I am trying to post a video or two so you  can see it!

A SUPER FABULOUS DAY TO BE OUTSIDE!

Here is Cale showing off her new Witch's hat... and her new Doll that we bought her for giving up her halloween candy. She is just fine with it... we let her keep a few pieces. :<) Also, you might take note that Cale picked her own outfit- so it is really neat.
Leah enjoyed the nice afternoon at the park. It was a little windy, but still a great day.

Happy Halloween

Here are a few pictures from our Halloween! We were able to see lots of family and friends and the kids had so much fun. We even enjoyed some snuggles before the kids went to bed. Thanks to everyone who made it a great day.

Dress up Day at CDO

Cale finally decided that she wanted to dress up for Halloween- I wasn't so sure she was going to be convinced. I think knowing that she got candy helped!
Thanks to Aunt Judy for the red M&M costume... she was the only M&M and everyone loved it!
Also, Auntie Erin was there today to help out and provide photography...we could not have done it without her. Even Daddy joined us for the fun. Leah and her friend Kellen LOVED watching all the kids parade in their costumes. They just pointed and smiled and had so much fun. Here are a few pictures. Happy Halloween!

Autumn fun

THANK YOU to Shelley for sharing this fun picture with us. The kids were having so much fun yesterday playing in the leaves. LOVE FALL!!!

Love those faces

Last Friday, we went to play at our favorite place, Paradise Park. It was fun-and not too crowded when we were there. Cale's favorite thing to do is paint her face and Leah loves the water table. She is finally figuring out that she can't pour out the water- so I am able to let her play. Both girls love the Art area and the pretend village. I am so thankful we have that place in LS!!  Hope everyone is well.

Zoo Day

We ventured to the zoo today. It was great. Our friends Shelley and Ainsley were able to join us. We had lots of train rides, some carousel rides and all the animals were out and about. This is Leah enjoying the Sea Lions and Cale being "brave" in the dark tunnel on the train. I love going to the zoo. I hope that we can go as many times this fall/winter as we could last year. We went every month except December.

Aunt Abby

Aunt Abby came over last Wed to visit. She helped the girls make pizzas... complete with shredded carrots on them. If you wonder why Cale and Leah have no clothes on... well- I took their clothes off to use the pizza sauce as I am kind of sick of cleaning up spaghetti sauce on clothes!! Here they are having a fun time. Thanks Abby for the visit and the pizza. We all really enjoyed it! Come back soon.

Cale at JackFM (and Flat Stanley)

We had such a fun day today. Cale started off by hitting the field at Soccertots...she did great. Leah and I stayed home and did some cooking and playing. When Andy got back with Cale, we made a swap- and Cale and I headed over to visit Erin and Bryan. They were kind enough to take time out of their day to let us visit the Jack FM radio studio. We brought Flat Stanley with us...as he goes with us everywhere right now! We have had so many fun outings with him, I am not sure I want him to go back to Arizona. Cale was too cute talking into the microphone and Bryan let her record her voice and play it back... she loved it. Also, she got to use the touch screen computer and make different sound effects. The best part was, she picked the pink buttons a lot, b/c they were pink.
Tonight we spent the evening as a family over at our friends house. We had a chance to babysit their daughter Lauren and it was a blast. All the girls played so well together and it was fun to just be chilling out together.
Here are some pictures from the radio studio. Thanks again to Erin and Bryan for being such wonderful friends and letting us do this. A fun memory!
And... if you didn't notice the leg lamp in the pictures... shame on YOU!!!

Leah's big girl update

"Little Leah" as I fondly call her is growing up! At this point, I have stopped counting the number of words that she knows, but her latest words are table, yogurt, buckle (not a new word, but much more clear), God, power, church, Cale (and it sounds like Cale!) and so many more. Also, she likes to eat corn on the cob, and yesterday she used the potty 2 times! We weren't home much today, but she did use the potty after her nap. Her biggest cheering section was Cale, who fondly told her good job, good job, good job over and over again. I was pretty happy about how she just sat right down and did her business. Then she proclaimed, all done! I know that she is watching and learning from everything that we do and everything that big sis Cale does too!

Faces

Here are 2 pictures that make me smile. Cale just looks so "Cale" to me in this photo.
Leah LOVES her "wubbie" aka blankie. She is our happy, determined and busy little girl!

Soccertots

Cale REALLY wanted to play soccer...here she is at her first class of soccer tots. Check out her MAD SKILLS!! She loved it the first week, and then last week wasn't so sure. I have to make sure she gets a good night of rest before she gets there this week!

Late September Fun

We are still loving the outdoors and trying to soak it up! Personally, Fall is my favorite time of year. Here are a few pictures.
I MUST post a list of all the fun things the girls are saying. Cale's vocabulary has just skyrocketed! Leah as well, and she is just a little mimic. This weekend we visited Andy's Grandma, Lucille in Deepwater, MO. It was such a beautiful day. We all had fun catching bugs and just being in the country. Hope you are enjoying fall as much as we are!
