Big Girls

Here are some fun pictures from this week. Leah loves the swings... and one of Cale's friends let her take a ride on her bike. She had so much fun.
I am just getting anxious for Leah to start walking so she is able to play more at the park. We are ready for SPRING!

Misson completed!

It is official. Cale is potty trained. we have gone 1 whole week without ANY accidents...she has been wearing underwear at home and everything!
Most days she wakes up to go early in the morning- she has stayed dry all night. I think it is so true that when they are ready- they just do it!
We are pumped... just in time for a 12 hours road trip!! Can you guess how many times we will be stopping to go potty!
I am the mom that takes the potty in the car. I took it with us the other day to the park as I was SURE that they would not have any bathrooms open- and they did not. I had the potty in the back of my SUV and was letting her go right there.
About 3 moms walked by... they were all saying how smart that was to take it with me.I kind of thought all moms did that!
:<) guess maybe I started a trend. CLASSY!!!!!

Potty Training

Cale has really taken to using the potty this time around. Andy and I are sticking to it- and she is doing great. I never thought I would be so proud of my kid for using the bathroom and keeping a pull-up DRY ALL DAY!
I am just kind of going crazy with constantly going to the potty- but its working and we think this is it! In fact, at childcare at Legacy- they have a "little potty" and she LOVES using it. This has made my week great- b/c I can get her there with this as her excitement. My life as a mom! How fun!
This is a picture of Cale posing in her big girl pants while she washes dishes. She loves to wash dishes. I think the mess she makes with the water is well worth it!

Little Valentine

I just thought Little Leah was awfully sweet... she was so tired- she just totally crashed out like that. Usually she sleeps only on her tummmy...

New Bed for Cale

Cale slept in her new Twin bed last night. Andy and I have been having some sleeping troubles with her recently. As Cale was always our super sleeper...we have been a bit of a mess trying to figure out what was going on. She has been not wanting to sleep in her toddler bed- but prefers the floor or "ground" as she says. Also, she would wake up in the middle of the night -and try to come in with us. We are not okay with that- so we thought it was time to see about her new "Big girl Bed" I am happy to report that she slept all night without getting up and quite liked it. She kept saying, "its nice and cozy in here..." In this video her words are, "bye bye little bed, bye bye little bed, Hello Big bed" Leah loves the new bed too- as she loves to climb- so she is enjoying this new obstacle to play on!

Our Family Fun -- Januray 2009

Cale's Sunday School Lesson

Cale went to Sunday School today at church... our lesson was about Love- and how Jesus loves us all. Apparently she learned something... because when we got home and I went to change her diaper she decided to tell me what you hear in the following video.

As I went to change her diaper she started talking about the "poo pot" I know that sounds funny- but she has a book about using the potty- where all the animals use a "poo pot" so she uses that term. Anyway- started telling me that "God doesn't want her to poop in the bathtub- only on the poo pot" and it was just making me laugh.
I had her say it again so i could get the video :<)

Now if we could only get her to use the "POO POT!" Andy and I would be so happy!

Leah update

I am overdue for an update on Miss Leah...and she is changing so fast!
At her 9 month dr appt Leah weighed 17 lbs and 12 oz and was 27 inches long. She has 5 teeth- with her other front tooth on its way very soon! Leah has been crawling for a few months- and she is now cruising around on the furniture. She has just started liking walking behind a walking toy. Also, she started waving about 2 weeks ago- and has since been a waving fool. Of course, her favorite person to wave at is her daddy! Also, Leah has really taken to eating table food... she loves blueberries, corn, peas, apples, bread, cheese and yogurt. I think she is about done with baby food. Our doctor said she could have 4 oz of whole milk in a cup every day- so we are trying to get her drinking from a cup. That will make mommy happy! Although her first year has gone by fast- she has really stopped having much interest in nursing or bottles- so it is time to move on to cups.
She is still a sweet little snuggler who loves to follow her big sister around. They love to scream and laugh at one another... and my favorite thing they do is hold hands when we put them in their carseats. Cale reaches her arm out to Leah and they hold hands. It is super sweet.
As many of you might remember with Cale, we like the "baby signs" so we are diligently working with Leah to help her communicate with her signs.
Right now she just grins at me...
Here is a picture of her waving at the animals at the zoo on Jan 19th.
